Time flies. I remember the day my angel was born and today her preschool/school education has started. All this was really fast. I wish I could hold the time back and cuddle her in my arms. Anyways I guess that’s what life is. I am sure every mom will relate to this. Sharing 5 Tips for Choosing the Right Preschool for Your Child which I think would be helpful for you moms. So hey moms finally the time has come for your little one to start his/her preschool journey. I wish someone had told me at the time when it was my turn to search for a Preschool.

Finding a preschool is a tedious activity, with so many options these days shortlisting one is a task. First of all, decide whether you want to enrol your kid in just a preschool or in such a school which supports education till 10th std or may be junior college/high school. By enrolling your child in such a school is a onetime activity for the parents and they are assured that they don’t have to run around later.

Shortlist few Preschools/Schools and then go through the below checklist:

  1. Reputation of the Preschool

So one of the main thing is to check the reputation of the school offline as well as online. Check with your friends and relatives, ask for guidance from experienced parents in your building or in your locality. Read the reviews on social media and go through the comments and ratings online of the shortlisted preschools/schools. This will help you to find the best fit for your child.

  1. Safety Measures & Facilities

Visit the preschool rather than trusting the online pictures. Security arrangement play a vital role – be it within school premises, at school entrance or in the pickup bus/van service. Cleanliness and condition of classroom and toys should be checked (if allowed by school authorities). Play area and toys should not have sharp edges and to be kids friendly. Doctor on call is a boon.

Check whether the preschool/school provides transportation facility. Condition of the vehicle, staff behaviour (attendant) and transport security should be considered.  Few preschools do arrange for food and hence no compromise on food hygiene.

  1. Proximity

It will be a win-win situation if you have a good preschool in your vicinity. If not, do opt for school which has transport facility. This is feasible for working parents who may not be able to pick up and drop their child daily to the preschool.

  1. Budget

Every parent wants his child to get the best education but best things in this world comes for a hefty price. While considering budget, it not only includes school fees but also adhoc charges like bus charges (if applicable), uniform, shoes, books, bags and it’s a never ending list. Hence we need to evaluate the school which does not burn our pockets and fits our budget.

  1. The final decision

Trust your gut
Post reviewing all the criteria you shortlist few schools but finalising one from that list becomes a challenge. Every school has pros and cons but trust me there will be one school which you feel positive about. Go for that preschool/school. Mommy instincts can never go wrong :). In the end no matter in whichever preschool/school your child is enrolled in, parents play a major role in making that experience joyful.

School is a platform where they ensure that every student entering their premises is taught and groomed to become a successful individual however it’s a student’s responsibility to make optimum use of this wonderful journey and make it work for both of them.
